Fundraising
Barracuda Swimming is a not for profit 501 (c) 3 organization as defined by the Internal Revenue Service. Barracudas mission statement reads,
"promoting the development of valuable life skills through the sport of swimming."
Contributions made to Barracudas are tax deductible to the extent the IRS allows. In most cases tax deductible contributions are those that exceed the fair market value of the goods received in return for your donations.
Barracudas participate in a variety of activities during the year to help raise money for the club. Some of these activities are fundraisers and other are volunteer projects that help bring recognition to Barracudas, while teaching our children the importance of community stewardship through volunteerism.
Our major fundraisers for the year are the annual Cuda Southern BBQ and Silent Auction, Swim-a-thon and three swim meets. Together these events net nearly $30,000. This money goes a long way toward financing the annual budget and toward keeping monthly dues as low as possible.
Half of this event income is derived from the Spring BBQ, Swim-a-thon, and silent auction.
